Organizational Behaviour (OB) System!

In simple term 'system' refers to the combination of two or more interdependent and interacting variables that produce a complete or meaningful things or products. Organizational behavior is also taken as a part of social system and a complete system. As a system it includes three different interdependent and interrelated variables such as input, process and output. The organizational behavior system can be explained as under:
1. Input
2. Process
3. Output
4. Feedback

 1. Input

Inputs are the independent variables which determined outputs. Organizational behaviour system acquires input at three levels that is individuals group and organization. Individuals, attitude, belief, values, emotion, feeling, etc are the individual level inputs. Group size and compositions are the group level input and organization design, structure and culture are organization level inputs.

 2. Process

Process refers to the way of transforming inputs into outputs. Organizational behaviour system applies different psychological, sociological, socio-psychological principles to convert input into outputs. Further the organizational behaviour system process goes through following three levels:

i. Individual level:- It follows psychological principles and theories such as perception, learning, motivation, personalities, etc.

ii. Group level:- It follows different sociological principles such as group dynamics, communication, leadership, power, conflict, etc. to convert input into output.

iii. Organizational level:- It follows human resource policies and practices, interaction with external environment to convert input into output.

 3. Output

Outputs are the expected or desired results that organizational behaviour system wants to achieve. The major outcomes of organizational behaviour system are as follows:

i. Productivity:- It refers to the efficiency relationship between output and output. A wise full utilization of available resources minimize the cost and wastage and enhance the productivity. The objective of organizational behaviour  system is to maximize the productivity of organization.

ii. Absenteeism:- It refers to an absent and intentional failure to join in the organizational work. It shows the degree of frustration or dissatisfaction of employees about the organizational activities. The aim of organizational behaviour system is to reduce absenteeism of employees in organization.

iii. Employee turnover:- It refers to the tendency of voluntary and involuntary permanent withdraw from the job or organization. Employee turnover create a great problem on the management of human resources. Organizational behaviour system reduces employee turnover.

iv. Job satisfaction:- It refers to pleasurable response of human resources towards their job and organization. Employees satisfaction is a major component for improving organizationals productivity. Organizational behaviour system attance to provide better satisfaction of human resources.

v. Organizational citizen behaviour  (OCB):- It refers to the feeling of belonging ness of employees towards organization. In other word, it is a tendency by which employees prescribe them as a the part of organization. Organizational behaviour system aims to improve organizational citizen behaviour in the organization.

vi. Deviant behavior:- It is an anti-social behavior which is not acceptable within an outside the organization surrounding. Organizational behaviour system attance to eliminate all kinds of deviant behavior of employees.

 4. Feedback

It is the last stage of organizational behaviour system where information obtain from outputs are feedback to system.
